It's been a tiring day, and once again I couldn't finish much that I had started or had planned. Hubby is sick again today with some respiratory bug and needed lot of help and TLC. He could have done it all had I not been here, but I was there and so he wanted me to find the paper he left in the car with his next doctor appointment. I ran out in my PJ's to get it. Then he wanted me to call for him, but I said I was going to wait ten minutes until my program I was listening to as I made soup was over. He didn't want to wait so he called himself. That was fine with me. The whole day went like that. I did get another pot of soup made because with him sick I thought we might need it. This time it was vegetable beef. I have at least a quart and a half in the fridge and another two quarts in the freezer. I also sampled a couple of mugs full during the evening. Yesterday I'd picked up some Jupiter's Beard divisions from a neighbor, but since we have frost these nights I'm having to cover them at night. I haven't planted them yet. Most are still in a pot of water until I have time to prepare a place for them. I put four smaller plants in a large pot and moved it to the flower bed in the photo. It now sits behind where the daffodil is in the photo. I wanted it to get more sun than it's getting now. I'm also trying to prepare a permanent place for the new plants. That means all that Lamb's Ears in the front of the bed has to go. I thought I'd start the job tonight, but I only got part of that far left clump before my fork spade handle broke. I did what I could to pry the roots up with a trowel, but I ran out of energy. Tomorrow is another day. I don't want to end up in the ER. What have you been up to?

It's hard when someone is sick. Soup sounds like a good idea when you're sick. Breaking a fork spade makes things hard. Sorry you need to get a new one. No, best not over work and end up in the ER. Me, I've been busy writing. Not today though, and maybe not tomorrow either. We'll just have to see how it goes.

@just4him I have to work with my cleaning helper tomorrow. She's a friend from church who needs extra money to help pay medical bills. I need her help and she needs the money and we work well together. She's become a real friend, but when we get through a few hours of work I'm bushed. She's about half my age and full of energy.

@bagarad I did get some writing done this morning before church, but that's it. I'll have more time for it tomorrow.

Lambs' ears are such a lovely plant. I just love feeling the furry leaves. They are so well-named.

I love those leaves, too. But I'm going to have to get rid of a lot of mine. They have a tendency to take over. I'd like room for some other plants, too.

@JudyEv Too bad I can't give you some of mine. They are worse than rabbits when it comes to reproducing themselves.

@bagarad I've never had any luck with them but that's par for the course for me. My Mum had a lovely patch.

Hope your hubby feels good soon. This stuff that is going around lasts a long time and is nasty. I am getting ready for my first craft show of the year. I cleaned two closets in my craft room and found some interesting things. One was a margarita glass. I saw on Pinterest a flower arrangement in a glass like I f9ynd so I put that together today.

I have not seen the Lamb's Ears (scientific name:Stachys lanata) and Jupiter's Beard (Red Valerian) that seem not to be our native plants.

Do you intend to plant the Jupiter's Beard in your garden? It is considered an invasive plant, I do not know if it can be contained.

I know it's invasive. So is Lamb's Ears. I'm trying to plant something I like that will spread right now, since I have bare ground to fill.

@bagarad In this case, they are surely useful to fill the land.

Sounds a bit TOO busy for me. I've been teaching (preschool, college) and practicing music the last couple of days.

Practicing the music sounds like fun. I've had my fill of teaching preschool and those days are over. Teaching college might be fun, but I don't want to get any advanced degrees. I wouldn't want to be a student again today.

I certainly hope your husband feels better soon. Today I worked on projects for my first craft show of the year which is in three weeks. I recently cleaned clisets and found a margarita glass. On Pinterest I saw a floral arrangement in a glass like I found. It's so cute!

You are a soup lover, going by reading your many discussions and that is one thing I do not make. Pity your spade broke - it must have been disheartening specially when you were in a mood for gardening.

He's in bed for the night. I'll have to see how he is tomorrow. I hope he will feel better and not push himself. I'd love to have a day off. I seem to be busier now than when I still was running my business.
