One day, just one day I fell in love with a place full of magic A place where their language is like magic We be both stopped and got out of the Car We stared at this huge beautiful Mountain in awe Majestic white and snow capped Sharp against the bright blue sky So many try to conquer you You are the one that conquers them Beautiful Snowdon in the beautiful land of Wales By Snowdon is where I would always want to stay There is a magic in Wales like no other You can`t put your finger on what it is Its pure magic Snowdon and surrounding areas are pure magic. We once worked around this area and we did so want to stay there for good but circumstances forced us to seek other places but I have never forgotten Snowdon like.

Wales is indeed a beautiful country but would you like to live in this town. "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch." It would take you a lifetime to learn how to pronounce it. It translates into English to: "St Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the Red Cave". Otherwise known as Llanfairpwll. There is a joke about the name of the place. There were some tourists in a restaurant and asked the waitress if she could tell them the name of the place very slowly so they could understand it. The waitress took a deep breathe and then told them Buuuuuurrrgerrrrrrr Kinnnnnnggggg!

@lovinangelsinstead21 It is quite a difficult language to master. Do you know about Patagonia in Chile? Welsh settlers moved there in the latter part of the 1800's and formed a community out there and they still speak Welsh!

@LoriAMoore Would it have been Betws-y-Coed ? Some Welsh words and pronunciatiosn involve a lot of tongue acrobatics and a cross between talking like Donald Duck.

I've been to Wales a few times, but not actually to Snowdonia. Lovely lyrical poem you wrote.

Thanks Jan. We worked there for quite a time and we were not able to stay for various reasons but have always gone back to see Snowdon and the Horseshoe Pass.

You have a friend there? How lucky. I had or have friends there and I don´t know if they are still there or not as this was such a long time ago. We worked about 25 miles from Mount Snowdon itself which is awesome.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Yes, it is someone I met online a very long time ago. She is a poet and writer and lives there with her family and grandchildren. A long time ago we always said I should go visit her but just never happened. Still keep contact online.

Many years ago my husband and I travelled through Wales by public transport. We had the chance of seeing an Eisteddfodd. I came second in the ladies' rowing race. Hah!

Well done then. I was used to going to Wales for holidays when I was small also so Wales is no stranger to me. I love the red brick houses too and the transport and the long long names they give to everything and the people I worked with there are something else.
