Missing my farm life my childhood days

Philippines
February 18, 2018 12:22am CST
this was way back 80s-90s' where theres just few houses around not much neighbours. how i wish i can have that smell of grasses again and the bad poop of carabaos, cow, pigs and goats scattered. climbing along big trees of mangoes, siniguelas, alatiris, star apple and eating the fruits straightaway without washing it first. remembering those fallen cracked mangoes and siniguelas{spanish plum} at the ground but we still eat it after having that tedious play and run around the landscape under the very hot sun , those are memorable but i cant go back anymore, my place now is full of houses and bully people. by the way the pic above is just from google thats not the actual look of the farm here before

my mother said the same thing when they were young growing up in the province. their father did not believe in eating merienda (snacks) so when they got hungry after playing games, they would climb trees to eat fruits.

Just before coming here I answered about my native place expressed my views to go back and stsy there for some time to relive in the past! Yes, childhood days are very sweet to recall and they are better if you have lived in countryside as i too lived under such conditions , which I badly miss today1 Thanks a lot dear @Strawberry18 for initiating a lovely discussion!

You must be blessed having a huge farm like that. Wished I could get rich to reclaim my grandma's home so that I can put a farm there for me to live the rest of my life with.

What lovely memories you have sadly I guess something your kids and many others will never experience. I had to look up some of the fruits you mention. I had never heard of carabaos we call them water buffalo. Smells can remind you so much of a past time and place!

@Strawberry18 You can still be surrounded by greenery. The Chinese do some innovative things with a shortage of space. it is a comfort to have green trees flowers and vines around. so soothing.
