For those that have Etsy stores here how do you succeed there and sell things?

I tried to see if I could go on Etsy once but I was told even though I make my calendars from scratch on the computer I cannot sell them there>. I just started knitting again and am a beginner and want to know what I can eventually do to make sales with knitting?

Why can't you sell calendars there? I have a friend who sells candles there, but I don't know how successful she actually is there. I was once told that marketing and promoting is very important if you want to do well on Etsy.

@Hannihar Hmmm, I'll have to go there and see for myself what the limitations are! A quick look, it seems the site has gotten a lot fancier than it used to be!

I don't understand why you cannot sell your calendars there ... I love buying doll clothes on Etsy

@bunnybon7 I am still a beginner and that is a good idea when i can knit fast and good and know how to make things. I will be knitting another scarf to see if I can do this better than the first one.

@DianneN No, I did not Dianne. I will wait to see if I have something if I want to approach them again or do something else. I do not have the energy to make lots of things and I am still really a beginner as you saw from the 2nd one I did. I was embarrassed to show that one.

I only know the name Etsy. There are a couple people on here who sell things on there and might be able to help you.

Thanks Valerie. I did check out somebody's shop. Someone mentioned doll clothes. I have far from advanced in my skills in knitting so have a long way to go. Someone suggested to put the end product here and may just do the first. It did not turn out so bad.
