In India we have Unique identity Card provided to each and every Citizen.
This has started by government few years back and government is making this card available for free of cost.
This card provides details like your picture, address, date of birth and bio metrics like pupil of eye, and impressions of all the fingers.
every card has unique number and unique bar code picture. If we use a application and scan any card we can get details of that person on mobile phone or on PC.
This Card is known as Aadhar Card and this is supposed to be linked with one's telephone, Bank account, PAN card, Cooking gas Card etc.
This card can be used as Identity Card any where that is needed.
How ever this card doesn't certify that the holder is a Citizen of India.
My interest is to know from the friends here from other country if they have such cards in their country? and I would like to know from my friends from India their opinion about the aadhar card and its utility! Thanks!

Yes, I have an unique Identity Card released by the country where I was born (Italy), this system existed even before I was born. Here in Switzerland I have a Resident Card, that is is also unique, and it proves that I can legally live in Switzerland.

@AKRao24 The Government (Fiscal Services) do not need the ID to keep an eye on our Bank account, they can simply ask the Bank if they have doubt and they want to know what you are doing. The passport is attached to our bio-metrics, not the ID.

we don't have them in England , although the Government do want us to have them ,,,,human rights groups are against it. I think it would be quite a good idea.

These types of groups are present in every country including in India, but Government was stern and wanted to implement it for the good with us. This is a gift for those who are sincere and honest and for the people who are having bad intentions for them this card can be real threat in revealing their underground activities! Thanks dear @Traceyjayne! Have a great time!

Pro - it will stop duplication of mobile sim cards. Big blow for anti social elements.
Con - duplication of aadhar card is possible

Apart from duplication of SIM Cards and preventing multiple unrevealed bank accounts and tracking the financial details there are many advantages dear @stapllotik ! I am really confused how can this card be duplicated by changing the photo?
Please could you explain further? Thanks!

Here in Hawaii, nothing like it. We got State ID cards and driver's license card for identification purposes. So far no bar code on our cards. We do have our pictures on them and numbers.
