Planted more veggies!

About a month ago I got two starter pots at work. One had tomato seeds in it, the other had basil. We got them set up and planted about two weeks ago, and pretty much the next day they were sprouting. They have continued to grow quickly and well. So I started picking up some more things whenever I saw them, and yesterday planted three more things. I planted jalepenos, onions and spinach. In addition to those things that are already planted, we picked up seeds for beets and turnip greens yesterday. I also have seeds for carrots and Walla Walla onions that still need to get planted. My goal is to at some point have enough stuff growing that I wont have to buy veggies at the grocery store anymore. Are you gardening? Do you have anything planted?

@JohnRoberts I might do some strawberries. And some more seasoning stuff, like garlic etc.

@thislittlepennyearns I'm thinking of doing some veggies in pots this year too but it's too cold to plant anything yet

Probably pots, or a raised garden in those hard plastic swimming pools when they get big enough to go outside.

@Marilynda1225 Keep them inside till the cold weather passes , that way you can get an early start. Ours are in the window when its sunny.

Congrats on growing from seed..that never works for me. I have to have an established plant. I may plant something when the weather gets better. I always like tomatoes..Maybe something else as well.

I am hoping the stuff I planted last night works as well as what I planted before.

Last year, I grew basil and did very well with it, so maybe this year I'll try to grow a few more things.

When I planted the basil and tomatoes the running joke here for like three days is that we were planting pizza plants. Like the captain saythey are gonna plant in the end of Wall E.

Its been in the eighties the last few days. So the gardening has started earlier. I have all my stuff potted inside right now though.

Our corn, green bean, snow pea, and sunflower plants are coming up. Will they survive the recurring onslaught of lugs, snails, and drought? We shall see.
