You get iron in red meat which absorbs better in your body than from plants. You need calcium in your body and cashews have calcium in them. So eating sirloin steak gives you iron for your body and eating cashews gives you calcuim for your body.

@Courtlynn I make the subs with cut up thin steak., cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. Much better than any sub place.

@jstory07 They are fattening if you eat too many. We're on our third large container since December. We are such piggies!

I thought you were referring to cashew apple but I see you are talking of cashew nuts. Cashew nuts like other nuts are good for reducing cholesterol.

Lots of other nutirents in steak too! One important one is Vit B12. I love Cashew nuts but they are very expensive here. We usually buy them in China town. They are so creamy and tasty!

We eat very little red meat, we get iron from fish. In order to better absorb iron from plants we should avoid drinking coffee and eating chocolate when we eat vegetables with iron. With red meat, the best is to eat tomatoes to be sure that the iron is well absorbed.
