A mattress store on every corner?

Eugene, Oregon

Maybe not quite every corner, but just about every strip mall has one. Driving around doing errands, the number of stores dedicated to selling just mattresses is incredible, not even including stores like Costco, J.C. Penny, Macy's and the big stores that sell everything. I have no idea how many there are really, but there is a review site with a heading "Best 30 mattress stores in Eugene/Springfield." According to the National Sleep Foundation (who knew there was one of those?), a good mattress should last 9 or 10 years. Have you bought a new mattress lately? Are there mattress stores all over your town?

My little burg has a couple of mattress stores plus Big Buy sells mattresses. I use a foam crate topper on my mattress. I just sleep better with the foam there to really cushion my joints.

I've always wondered how in the world these mattress stores could stay alive . . . are that many people buying or replacing their mattresses throughout the year ? There are those cheap furniture stores that sell cheap mattresses too. We are going to get new mattresses soon - Hubby's back can't take this current one anymore!

@JamesHxstatic I guess we'd have to pick a few stores for comparison and jump on every mattress . There are super expensive ones that are supposed to be very comfortable, better for your back, etc - those are an investment!!

@much2say Yes, I know, but who to trust in the mattress world. If I were going to buy one today, it would be at my local Costco. They have some good brands and I could take it back if I did not like it.

There seem to be only two mattress stores at home and in Florida. We have fairly new mattresses in all bedrooms.

We do have a lot of mattress and bedding stores. We spent quite a lot on the mattress we have now and i think the guarantee is for 15 years. We haven't noticed any deterioration in it.

@JamesHxstatic I hate having to buy a new mattress. I don't like trying them out in the shop much and you can't really tell if they'll be suitable just from lying on them for a few minutes.

Nothing like perfect mattress for your back. U don't want it like a board or so soft you get crooks in your back and neck. A foam cover is very heavenly and contours with your back!!! My mattress is over 50 years old along with everything else in here!! Time to get a new mattress, but I love this one!!!!

No mattress stores all over town. Just a few. My mattress is about 5 years old and still great. It has a 10 year warranty. Im planning to buy a memory foam topper though.

Yes, we have one that age as well. I dread shopping since it is so hard to compare one to another.

Our mattress was expensive but it is guaranteed 25 years. As it is only 10 years old and like new, we do not plan to change it.

Yes, ten years does not seem a long time for a mattress somehow.

Hello there! Not on every corner, I think, But there are maximum stores available in our region also. While I was thinking about getting a new mattress, my brother suggested me to take a look online for the natural latex mattresses. As latex mattress have so many advantages than other types of mattresses. he also told me that these mattresses should also help me in reducing my back pain. For which he told me about Palma Sleep ( ) for getting natural organic mattress in Boca Raton.
