Barbecue Season Is Coming!
After the long months of cold and winter, we will soon be coming up to summer and BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking as it's the only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved.
When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following
chain of events are put into motion:
Routine...
1) The woman buys the food.
2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the
3)vegetables, and makes dessert.
4) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places
4)it on a tray along with the necessary cooking
6) utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is
7) lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.
8)Here comes the important part:
THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL
More routine....
The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery. The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.
Important again:
THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
>
More routine..The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces and brings them to the table. After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
And most important of all:
Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

That is hilarious and so true! Thanks for a good laugh. (I'm going to read it to my husband later.)

@Liberti I read this to my husband and of course being a man, didn't seem to find it quite as funny as I did. PS I suggested this post to several members.

I personally prefer doing the rest of it, the guys do great outdoor cooking and are not underfoot. Once it is all done we can relax and often at least at my place the men help clean up or the older kids do.

HAHAHA how true! It reminds me of a little plaque I have seen. Do you want to speak to the man in charge or the woman who knows whats going on?

Yeah, I get it. But I don't think that was any day off unless she enjoyed it.

@Liberti , Yea, all that drinking and small talk around the grill outside,so the ladies can sit and talk about things they are interested in talking about in a quieter setting, that is, until meal time.

I live on another planet, my husband loves to cook and now retired, my kitchen is his kitchen. I do the dishes - or at least put them in the dishwasher. I do know many men that you described above. Enjoyed the laugh.
