Busy day yesterday!

It was my wife's birthday yesterday after dropping my grandson and daughter to nursery I came back home and made a banana cake. This was for everyday use and not for her birthday.
My grandson went to see a dragon dance in front of the townhall. Sadly it was raining but that did not stop them going to see it. After they went inside the town hall to watch some dancing and singing.
To continue with the theme we had Chinese dinner last night and the kids attempted to use chop sticks which was quite funny. My grand daughter managed fairly well but my grandson just could not get it and ended up stabbing his chopsticks through the food so that he could get there in the end.
All in all we had a fairly good day yesterday. Harrison decided he wanted to stay with us overnight. ( I think he thought he would not have to go to nursery this morning so seemed quite shocked when I told him to get ready for school).
My daughter collected him and off they went.

@JudyEv They were so excited by mine last year. They were waiting for me to come back from work. When I opened the door they started to sing happy birthday. When they finished I asked them why they were singing Christmas carols, My grand daughter 7 rolled her eyes and sighed my grandson looked terribly confused and my daughter shouted out to me Dad will you stop teasing them. I thought it was hysterical!

@garymarsh6 After a lot of birthdays, they get a bit ho=hum don't they? But kids of course love them so adults have to put the effort in too.

OH lordy. I think you should get your shopping in first. They say we are due an arctic blast this weekend and to expect snow! Whatever you decide to cook I know it will be a lovely feast!

That was nice because, during the dinner with your grandchildren, they tried doing what the Chinese do to celebrate the Chinese New year - using chopsticks.
That reminds me to see if I still know how to use chopsticks. I will use it tonight.

@SIMPLYD Haha I have a cheat pair of chopsticks that are connected at the top so that you can use them easily!

I am so glad that you celebrate the Chinese New Years like us,especially read that there was also dragon dance there and you had Chinese dinner with chopsticks.

Yes he would much prefer to stay here than go to nursery but it is good for him to mix with other children!

Yes we had a great day thanks. Ha tomorrow I am going back to work. I am only going to do four hours on Thursday and Friday see how it goes but I am sure I will be fine now!

I have some cheat chopsticks they are like miniature tongs but to be honest I prefer to use a knife and a fork.
