Shouldn't We Accept Sorrows as well as Joys?

It was not a good day but the evening brought the most painful experience. Some priest friends of mine and a worker were traveling in a car from Kolkata to Krishnanagar. Their car rammed into a bamboo carrying van about 4 km from our place. One of the bamboos pierced the throat of the worker seated on the back seat. Fr. Pascal called me for help. I and some of my colleagues reached the spot of the accident in an ambulance. We met our friends at the roadside. Rescue operation had already begun. Formalities in the local hospital and with the police took some time. The worker was dead. That complicated the situation more. Post- mortem will be done tomorrow and the corpse may be released sometime in the afternoon. We brought the the priests and the driver to our place for tea and supper. An hour later some more persons arrived from Krishnanagar and took them in their vehicles.

That is very, very sad. What a dreadful thing to have happened.

That's a horrible accident! I think we have no choice but to accept the good and the bad as we cannot send the bad away.

You're right. Human life contains both joys and sorrows.
