Hello everyone. Another creation of mine. This time for my son's birthday. Last yeat I baked him a minecraft cake. For those who do not know. Minecraft is a game in ipad/tablet/smartphone. So the minecraft cake is just a square choco cake with white fondant top and some red square on top. For his birthday this year, he requested a cake with Steve's face. Steve is his favorite character in minecraft. I am not a professional baker but I do not want to disappoint my son especially when he already announced in school that he will have a birthday party. Did I do justice to Steve? I used boiled icing this time.

@rakski as long as it tasted good and sweet, it won't matter if Steve was cross-eyed or 'singkit'.

@rakski that's great. i thought it was your college course, or that you had a family business when you were growing up.

@hereandthere I wish that was the case. During that time back in college, there were only few schools with culinary courses and they were too expensive.

How do you make the boiled icing? Do you pour hot syrup over eggs whites while beating and you add food coloring?

@rakski You are right, it is a lot easier with a mixer stand.

Yes. That is right. It is a liytle bit hard because I only have a handheld mixer. Much better if it is a mixerstand
