Oh, we trust that "God" is in control of 'things that NOBODY CAN CONTROL' (like 'weather' or 'lucky fortune' or ... quantum quantities or something); but--like we don't thank White Castle-Founders Walter Anderson & Billy Ingram when we buy a burger from one of the millions-&-millions of fast-food stores they inspired--we probably shouldn't thank "God" for the abundant bounty his great-great-great-grandchildren share with us.

Why thank God for anything? Like when someone thanks God for helping them through surgery? The Doctor's did that surgery, not God.

Ultimately God will be in control when Jesus defeats Satan at Armageddon, But for now, he gives us free will and the decisions we make are certainly not his will for us. In that sense, God is not in control because he gives us that control while we're on this earth. To answer April @thislittlepennyearns, I agree that doctors study and are usually competent, but I believe God is the ultimate healer, the Great Physician.
