Going into any movie that features Meryl Street and Tom Hanks raises the expectation exponentially. Having at least a working knowledge of the storyline is a big help in this particular case. My hubs fell asleep early on.
Not that this movie is a snoozer it isn't but there is not a lot of action and it does get off to rather a slow start. You need to understand who Kay Graham is and her social position in DC. You also need to know that when this movie begins there is no way she was up for the challenge she was going to face, or at least so we think.
Meryl Streep does a masterful job of showing all the vulnerability that is part of the person who people think Kay is. They underestimated the true powerhouse behind the facade that people had created for her including her father and her husband.
I found it hard to hear Tom Hanks with a potty mouth but he is an actor of many faces and this is just another one.
I enjoyed this movie. Did I enjoy it as much as Darkest Hour, no, not even close but it is well worth seeing. I give it 4/5

I enjoy this type of movie. Where the woman shows herself to be strong. Tom Hanks with a potty mouth? Have to see that.

@BelleStarr Great but somehow I don't see Tom Hanks in that role. I hope that I won't be disappointed.

Yes he certainly had a lot to do with what the Washington Post became as a newspaper.

@BelleStarr When vulgar language is used without a purpose it is disturbing. I do not expect it is disturbing in this movie.
