Junk removal

Hungary
February 24, 2018 2:13am CST
Today is junk removel day here in our district. It is an official clearance. Everyone can put their junk on the street and the district will take care of transport it. It happens once a year. We have some junk to clear out like a not working printer. The streets have a very unusual view today. We like to walk around because we think these junks are pieces of different lives. What do you think? Do you like clearance or it disturbs you?

Can junk be the same as trash? I wonder if people would take their trash out and then call it junk.

There are rules that everyday trash can't be taken out. Sometimes people don't follow this rule, but it works mostly.

@mydanods Thanks! I also think that it is great and it makes easier to get rid of old furnitures and other junks.

I hope you have been having fun on myLot and are beginning to make new friends here. If there is anything I can do to help you enjoy yourself here, please tell me. I will be happy to help you!

@anikoonline (grinning at you) You are always welcome to any help I can give, Aniko! And any skills you have gained with the emojis here is definitely yours. I only told you where they were. I didn't explain how to use them!

Hello DaddyEvil again! I registered here last month and I really enjoy my time here. It makes me remember the good old days of bubbs. Your help with emojis was great, I am having fun using 'my' new emoji skill.

@DaddyEvil It is morning here and I haven't had a sip of coffee this morning, but the first though I had when I read your comment was 'give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime'. Am I quite philosophical without my coffee?

We have a "junk removal" service coming this week, I think--but I only have one item to go.

Then it won't be a huge project to you. Here we had a bigger junk removal and our flat looks much better now. What is the one item?

That’s interesting. Junks speak volume of their owners. I wish you took some pictures.

I think that is so wonderful your town does that. I wish ours would! Bigger things I just leave in my cellar as it's expensive to get rid of them. You going around looking for treasure that is other people's trash is great!

Thanks! I appreciate this because it is a big help. And sometimes we can find really interesting 'junks'.

I would love to see a photo of this. I agree with others is it fair game to go grab something that may be of use to you?

Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to walk around and take pictures this year. The weather was really cold and windy and we were tired to go out. And we got a new couch that was my neighbour's and we took out our old one. It was lucky because while we were taking this out of the building, one of our neighbour asked us to have it. Now our old couch have a new owner and we have a new one. And we didn't have to pay anything. Now two family is happy with their new couches that they got without buying an expensive new one. It is a great way to recycling.

if you see junk that you can repair and use, can you ask the owner if you can have it instead?

The same happened with us yesterday. Our neighbour got rid of her couch. We saw it and we wanted a new one for a long time and ask her. It has no mistake, she simply bough a new and didn't want this anymore. Now we have it, I've just bough some carpit cleaner and I will clean it today. We will take our old couch to the street and maybe someone will be happy to have.

Our town has something similar once a year. But the thing that is different is that we have to haul our junk to a specially designated junk yard that is on the outskirts of town. We haul it in our Van.

We don't have to separate it, we just put it in the street.

I don't like to look at the mess for a few days. But it is a good thing.

The great thing is that it's only one day. We can take it out from 6 pm (well people usually do this during the day). And the district takes it away during the night. It is over the next morning.
