Beach Reads!

I just got back from vacation and although I brought a total of 5 books to read (in 6 days, very likely right?) But only managed to read 3 between lounging pool side and the airplane trips. When you go on vacation do you pick any specific type of "beach reads" that maybe you normally wouldnt read in your day to day life? I know my sister likes to pack easy reads and romance. I personally brought a few murder mystery type books. I like these anyway, and they have the tendency for me to be a quick read just because if the author is any good, they tend to hook you right in! The resort we stayed at had a community library as well so I left behind the books. Which is nice. These are the 3 I read: 1. Second Honeymoon by James Patterson. I think I read the first one years ago. This one has a lot going on. First, there is a serial killer on the loose. Wait, no, 2 serial killers. One killing recently married folks on their honeymoons. The other killing men named John OHara. Of course lots of action, murders and mayhem in between. An OK read althoigh personally I feel like I have outgrown Patterson. I just dont really likehis books like I used to. 2. Right Behind You by Lisa Gardner. This is probably my favorite out of the 3 books I read. I follow this author and she is pretty good; definitely writes some page turners. This one is about a troubled foster son who kills his parents, shoots up a gas station and proceeds to go on a killing spree while hiding out in the woods. It just so happens this is our main character Quincy's recently adopted daughters biological brother. Lots of twists that I wont spoil. Is a good read. 3. Breakwater by Carol Neggers. Found this one at the thrift store although had never heard of her. This is about Quinn, an FBI consultant who discovers the body of a close friend in her pond at her weekend cabin. At the same time a new security company Breakwater is launched in the area. Quinn starts nosing around to get answers and unravel a consiracy between her deceased friend, the FBI and this security company. And a little bit of romance sprinkled on in between. Have you read anything good lately?

I would be watching people surf and sipping on a good beverage. I could not read anything with the distractions at a beach.

I always need a break from the ocean. Maybe I am weird but I get salt water like in my eyes and all over it just dries me out! But I do like to be in the pool.

Actually, they all sound pretty good. I am still reading I AM Watching you on Kindle. It features a woman who sees a girl on the train the last day before she disappeared. Somehow, the abuctor knows this and has been leaving scary notes for the woman. This book features a huge cast of characters and really has you guessing who the abductor will be. It isn't really clear at this point, halfway through whether the girl has been murdered or not.

While on Vacation I was reading Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. I only got half through the book. It was full of technical things that slowed me down, I intend to finish the book, because at the half time, it became really interesting.
