I am one of these people who will wake up early no matter what time I go to bed. I just can't help myself. Today is Sunday and I could have had a lovely lie in apart from the fact my body clock woke me at my usual time of 6 am. I have never overslept and never used an alarm and once I am awake I can't go back to sleep. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm an early person too. Though I'm usually awake at 3 AM and getting ready to go to the pool for 5. I actually slept in this morning. It was after 4 when I got up this morning.

@sprite1950 It depends on the weather. Last week due to ice, I didn't. However, I was up at 2:30 this morning and in the pool at 5.

Hey, you! Yeah, I wake up at all sorts of times... 4am, 6am... If I'm lucky, I can go back to sleep for a little while, but often when I'm up, I'm up.

@spiderdust Hey Kelli, great to see you here. I think having kids does that to us. We're always listening out for them so sleep lightly.

@spiderdust My kids are grown and left home. I have my granddaughter who sleeps well .. but the waking at the drop of a pin has stayed with me.

I actually think it's good that you have your body clock set up properly. I used to be an night owl before I became a mom, but in these recent few years, I started to learn to sleep early and wake up early. Now, I am very used to wake up early, it's actually in the middle of the night, usually between 2-4 am. No matter what time I slept, I always wake up around this time too. I needed to set my alarm clock to wake me up last time, but now I just wake up on my own. If I sleep late, I might just go back and sleep, and I usually don't have problem falling back to sleep again. But, I usually prefer to get up and do some work while the kids are still sleeping. That's my me-time, and this is also why I like to wake up early.

@kaka135 I like the early part of the morning before my granddaughter has to get ready for school. It's so peaceful. I often do my online sites then. It's just after 7 am here now.

I don't see it as a problem truth be told.

@allen0187 I suppose if you like getting up early whether you have to or not it wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I'm usually an early riser as well. Once I'm up, I'm up. I can't really fall asleep. So if I'm up at 5-6, I'm up for the day.

@sprite1950 You definitely have more time to wake up and relax.

@dodo19 I like the early part of the day, especially in the summer before everyone wakes up. It's so peaceful.

@dodo19 Yes it's quite annoying when I don't really need to get up but at least I can sit quietly for a while before getting ready for the day.

I also wake up pretty early. I dont mind though, I tend to get a lot done before others rise.

@maezee the same for me although I like to sit quietly for a while and sip tea when I first get up.

I wake up early but weekends I usually sleep 'till 7-8 am. It happened today, too. I think being an early riser is not a problem. I enjoy these minutes. It is a gift for me as free time.

@anikoonline I agree, the early part of the day is the best. I love the quiet when there is no one else around.
