Rainy Days and Sundays Always Get Me Down.

It has been raining, sleeting, and slap some freezing rain on top of that, and you have a miserable day weatherwise. Was going to go shopping this morning, but I won't drive on sloppy roads. My go out later this afternoon. I'll have hubby drive. He doesn't mind driving on crappy roads. Have had a lot going on lately, hence my absence from this site. The need to focus on my life and family was important. Finally got Little Miss in her own room. She loves it. Has been doing well with sleeping in her own room! She is finally potty trained!! That is a huge plus on both counts. Next month marks a year since Little Miss moved in with us. There may be huge changes coming up soon. This will be a major adjustment and will put a wall between me and my daughter. However, it is about the little one, not about anyone else. I am counting down the days that I will have to work before I retire. In a short 1 1/2 years I am done. I may work part-time, but not doing the work I have done for the past 10 years. I had taken a few days off from work and I realized how much more relaxed and focused I was. I need to do this for my physical and mental health. I have missed interacting with you all here at Mylot. You have been supportive and become an important part of my life. Thank you. Although I am not as active here as I once was, know that I think of you all often. I'll be back when time allows. Sending big hugs to you all.

We're just happy when you have the chance to pop in here to myLot every now and then! We realize that between work and Little Miss, you have a lot going on. Totally understandable! By the way, I started counting down to retirement two years ago, when I still had six more years to go! I now have 4 years to go. Trust me, I look at my countdown clock every single day and sigh that retirement just can't get here fast enough! The fun part is that when I'm finally eligible for full retirement from my job, I won't even be in my 50s yet, so I will still be young enough to do all kinds of fun things. And I'll be honest with myself, I'll still probably work a part-time job, even in retirement!

There is a part of me that wants to keep working, but I know that it won't be full-time. I could handle a few days a week. Forget about the weekends though, I have put my time in doing that. I want my weekends off!

@moffittjc If my husband would help out it would take less time to get the housework done.

@ElusiveButterfly I look forward to that magical day in the future when I can fully have my weekends off! And maybe someday in the future I can figure out how to get all my chores done, so I don't have to spend the entire weekend cleaning, doing laundry and vacuuming the house! lol

Sounds like you got our weather. I hate ice storms. I'm so sorry there is a wall going up between you and your daughter. Sometimes it's best when children are involved. I'm so glad Little Miss has her own room and bed and loves it. Time away from work is always good in helping you get your focus back. I remember when I was counting down my days to retirement. Mine came sooner than expected. Now, I wouldn't go back. I hope the time goes fast for you.

Hopefully we can get through this and be okay. Lord only knows if it will happen. Little Miss is growing up fast. So many milestones have come her way.

@ElusiveButterfly Miracles are God's specialty. Children don't remain little long. Soon you'll be sending her to school.

We got a lot of rain last night, I don't mind it at night but cant wait for some really warm weather! We are to hit the 50's but then back to the 30's,. Yes big changes happen when you have a little one. You are also right it is about the little ones. We got Tess into her big bedroom and she is loving hers too! Ohh Potty training and getting it done is a huge thing!

We take each day as it comes. She still has had a few steps back, but moving forward more so. She is proud of her accomplishments too.

I did notice you haven't been around lately. That's great the little one enjoys her room and is now fully potty trained!

She was ready for her own room. Thought it would take longer for her to adjust to sleeping alone in her room, but she took to it right away. The potty training took a long time. She even asks to go when we are out and about! That is progress.

@ElusiveButterfly my daughter slept alone until her brother was born and then she was moved across the hall to a bigger room. She was scared to sleep in there for years. She slept in my room for 8 years I think.

@shaggin I find it no harm in letting her sleep in my room. I didn't sleep well as I listened to her snore when she had a cold. She woke me quite a bit. I guess the move benefited both she and I. However, if she would like to sleep in our room, we have no problems with it.

She is napping in our room now. Didn't want to nap in her bed. I am okay with her wanting to sleep in our bed for naps. It is comfortable for her.

You have to do what's best for you and the little one. So happy that she sleeps well in her own room. A big plus!

When I signed on for this I made it clear that it was about her best interests. That will never change.

Glad to hear from you. Virtual hugs. So very cold here so I spend more time online in my warm room than doing anything else right now.

Huge hugs for you. I'm sorry for the family situation. My hubby will retire in about 3 years. Due to our freaky winters, I'm counting the days.

I really hate driving even more now when we have bad weather when I have Little Miss in the car. Precious cargo.

It sounds like you have a lot to do at home and working full time can't be easy. Winter doesn't help either. Our snow and ice is gone and its warming up but it could change in a minute. I am so ready for spring and I think you are too...

Supposed to get crappy weather on Friday. Not looking forward to another storm. But, it is still possible to get snow this time of year. We just have to suck it up.

Hugs to you too. I've been mostly absent for the last three weeks, but now have home internet again so I will be able to spend more time mylotting. If I really work hard (not likely) I might even reach the magic $5 before Wednesday night.

I doubt the magic $5 is reachable for me anytime soon. Good thing I don't count on it.
