when i made coffee today, i just added milk, no sugar. it tasted strange. i knew it would not be as sweet, but not strange. i let it cool a bit, then sipped again. still strange. then i totally forgot about it. when i finally remembered, it was already cold. but i still drank it so as not to waste it. and remembered the strange taste. finally, i saw it. a lump at the bottom of the mug. not unmelted powdered milk. but a piece of ginger! hahaha! earlier, i soaked fresh ginger and galic in a mug of hot water to sip it. i didn't realize i used the same mug. i know i rinsed it, but obviously, not well enough! did you ever do something similar?

At least it was not soap I don´t remember having had that experience. But I check all the cups and mugs that I don´t wash with my own hands. I´m picky.

@LadyDuck do you only eat and drink on your dining table? i mean do you ever bring your coffee to you and your hubby's work area?

sometimes just ginger and hot water. sometimes i add honey. i take it when i wake up with a scratchy throat or if i feel like i'm coming down with a cold. i add a piece of garlic once in a while because it's supposed to have more potent properties than ginger.

that's the word - perplexed! but at least it was a tolerable taste. if it was the garlic, i'm sure i won't regret pouring it down the sink.

No not at all.. Having a ginger there made the coffee extra healthier to drink though, especially if it was an instant coffee.

when i prepare my cup of coffee, i would put 4 smaller teaspoonfuls of cappuccino in my cup, sans milk or sugar. it tastes good. our cups are always placed upside down so we know there is nothing in it, unless if it is up, we should check what is inside

i wanted to use the same mug, instead of getting a new/clean one, and i was sure i rinsed it, but i guess i did it too quickly.

I don't know about the taste, but it made your coffee healthier . I can't think of ever doing that, but I know I've taken sips of coffee or tea from my husband's cup (same as my cup) by accident. Last time I did, I caught his cold . . . I can't believe I did that!!
