A Wonderful Welcome!

Yesterday morning I was out running errands...laundry, buying more paint, preparing for my next day with the Longarm quilt machine....just a all round busy morning.
When I returned home the previous owner pulled into the driveway behind me.
She and her husband delivered a lovely card and a pretty house plant. She was genuinely welcoming and wished us all the best in our new home.

@Morleyhunt You are lucky, it is so important when you move to find nice people. Your husband will be happy too.

Everyone in this community has been so welcoming. The previous owners have been so concerned that we might not like our new home and new community. I can't wait for my husband to arrive and meet all these lovely people.

@Morleyhunt Oh that's good, what colour did you paint the living room?

@Juliaacv I went with a pale smokey gray. Just a hint of pink to soften it. When I started to paint it looked lilac and I started to second guess myself, but once it was dry....I love it!

I thought it was a sweet gesture. I told her she was welcome to stop by anytime...she peeked at some of the changes we've already made....she loves the colour I painted the living room.

Really nice of her to do that for you.
I canĀ“t think of anyone that would do that for someone else.
Lovely flowers by the way and the card also.

It was a very kind gesture of theirs and I hope her Hubby gets well soon too.

It's small gestures that mean so much. Her husband is not well, but they still took the time to make sure we feel welcome.

It was. Next week when I head back to Ontario for a month the next door neighbour will take the plant to her home until I return.

So far it has been a wonderful experience. I've moved into "closed" communities where we were always the outsiders and didn't feel at all welcome.

It was a lovely gesture. The flowers look very pretty. As soon as I am done painting my kitchen/dining room the plant will get the place of honour on the table....but for now it's in the living room.

It was a wonderful gesture. They seem to be a very lovely, elderly couple.

It was nice of the previous owner to present you with a lovely card and flowers-cyclamen for your move to the new house.By the way ,over there do you have a habit of throwing a house warming party?

Some people throw house warming parties....we never have, but I'm sure that when my husband gets here we will probably invite many of those who have made me (us) feel so welcome to a barbecue.

It's a pretty splash of added colour in my almost empty living room.

They are a lovely couple. I actually met the woman when we came to view the house in October. She is most eager that we "love" our new home.

How nice is that? Is the new owner continuing to live in the area? And cyclamens are one of my favourite pot plants.
