The Operated Foal Is Absolutely Fine Now!
February 28, 2018 8:29am CST
As discussed in my last post, we have operated the foal suffering from ruptured bladder with the help of visiting Surgeon in the morning at 06.30. the operation went on well and it lasted for about one hour and the foal got recovered from anesthesia within three hours completely. In the evening after taking the rest I examined the foal and found her in excellent condition. No fever, no pain, normal clinical parameters, good appetite and normal urine passing - these are the symptoms observed in the evening with which I am very happy! I am enclosing the picture taken in the evening after giving the routine i/v antibiotics to her! Thanks a lot all of you who have wished me and my foal best of luck! God bless you all! Though she will be required to be kept under observation and intensive care is needed, I am hopeful by one weeks time she should be normal foal!

Yes, dear friend @Hannihar, it takes 5 to 6 days for the healing of operated site, till that time we need to keep the foal protected by giving a coverage of antibiotics and also monitor her for her urine out put and milk intake along with keeping the record of other clincal parameters for a minimum period of 5 days! Thanks a lot! God bless!
That is for different reason dear @prashu228 ! It is supportive bandage for the foal with weak knee! The foal is just 4 days old...the knee gets support while lying down and getting up with this bandage! Now within a day or two this bandage will be removed! Thanks! God bless!
