So yours truly is back with another discussion on cricket! This time, Indian cricket team bounced back after one setback in the second Twenty-20(T-20) to beat South Africa by 7 runs in a close match at CapeTown, South Africa.
India thus won the series by 2-1.
India made a great start with Suresh Raina (43 off 27) attacking South African bowlers quite well, aided by Shikhar Dhawan - 47 off 40 balls. However, hosts South Africa later succeeded in tightening a bit and restricted India to 172 for 7.
Later, Christiaan Jonker made a 24-ball 49 and put on 51 runs in 3.3 overs with Farhaan Behardien for the sixth wicket at over 14.5 runs an over to bring South Africa quite close to the target. Yet, the Indian bowlers showed discipline and held South Africa to 165 runs.
This is the first T-20 win by India on South African soil, which comes after their first ODI series win.
Suresh Raina won the Player of the Match while Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the Player of the Series.
