Do You Turn the AC on really low and then leave the House??

Over the past few weeks I've just gotten to the point where I've realized that I'm tired of living with other people. I'm especially tired of living with other young adults. I can't stand their attitudes or their really strange habits, attitudes and ideas. We have this one roommate that thinks the A/C needs to be on 60 or lower everytime she enters the apartment. I'm not sure why, but she has to turn it on and then leave it there. Sure, being hot is terrible and everything but you do not need the air turned on 60 degrees to cool down. I feel like explaining this to the roommate but I'm not sure it would do any good. Tonight, she was in for about 10 minutes or so. About 2 minutes before she left the apartment, she turned the air down to her usual 60 degrees and then went back into her room before getting her keys and locking the door and then leaving the apartment leaving us to freeze. She never came back and we're not expecting her to come back so I turned the air off about 5 minutes after I was sure she was gone. Do you turn the air on extremely low temperatures and then leave your house or apartment? Do you think that turning the air really low really accomplishes anything or are you wiser than that? And lastly, does living with other people ever really get better?

I dont and I hate heat. I sleep with my AC on but when I leave i turn it off because theres no reason to have it running when youre not there in my opinion

I feel your pain as I've shared with inconsiderate people before. I shared a house with two other girls once and one of them never did any housework even though we were supposed to share it. She would use all the hot water, hog the tv and was generally horrible to live with. I don't know if it ever gets better but I know there's usually one person that will be worse than everyone else.

I'm actually a college student pretty much living in a college dorm. It's an apartment leased to the university, so we pay one lump sum at the beginning of the year and then we're pretty much done with it. We don't have to pay any bills aside from the beginning of the year but still I feel like it's just wasting energy to do that all the time and I'm a big fan of not wasting energy. I think it's pointless. I mean, no one in their right mind needs the air set at 55 or 60 degrees..especially if you're not present.

We don't have AC, so I don't have an opinion on it. But wasting energy is certainly stupid. Try to find different accommodation. There must be other apartments near your college.
