Enjoying a snow day.

Well, about 8.15 last night I got a text message to say that the school where I work was closed today because of the weather.... Yay, I was able to have a lovely long lie in this morning and relaxing day at home. Although it wasn't all that bad where I live yesterday it certainly made up for that today . Good thing I was not at work because goodness knows how I would have got home. It is pretty thick now outside and it is not looking like its going to be stopping any time soon. Next two days are the weekend anyway so we will just have to see what happens next ....

I wanted to go out and play in the snow, but I also wanted to not go out in the cold! I did have to go out, though. When I got home, there was lots of snow on the ground. It looked very tempting but when I tried to make a snowball, I realised it was still really powdery and would not be any good for making snowmen! It was lucky that I had the day off work today as Mini's school was closed. They'd been open the rest of the week, but I got a text at quarter to 11 last night to say they were closed today. I'd made plans with a friend but she cancelled anyway. As it happened, we were going to go to the cinema, which closed because of the weather! So, Mini and I went out for lunch, went to my Mum's and had some TV time and play time. Now, I'm doing this while he has some screen time before we settle down with a film. So it's turned out to be quite a good day!

@Traceyjayne it was, but we found plenty to do. I got to spend extra time playing with an electronics thing with my little niece and nephew, so that was a bonus!

You can go tobogganing during the weekend. Where in the UK do you live?

@Traceyjayne Aha. Thank you. Many, many years ago I hitch-hiked with a friend from London to the very north of Scotland and back. Yet, we didn't visit Birmingham. :-(

I can imagine that snow can cause quite a bit of havoc if an area isn't really geared for it.
