One last winter storm

We had another winter storm today. The roads are really nasty and getting worse by the second. One of my coworkers was in a fender bender on the way to work this morning. She's okay, and her car is mostly okay, but when she drove home she said it didn't sound right so there might be some mechanical problems in there. Work closed early due to weather. I got to leave an hour early. I finished my shopping now I'm home for the night. Unfortunately hubby and my oldest son do have to work tonight so I hope they're okay driving on the slippery roads! My other son was supposed to go to the Shakespeare Competition tomorrow, but they moved that to next week due to the weather. I'd rather it have been tomorrow even if the roads aren't great. I work next Saturday and won't be able to get the time off on such short notice. Now I'm not sure if my son can compete. I told his teacher and am waiting for her response. She was able to drive him to the workshop earlier this week, so hopefully she can take him to the competition. I'm so done with snow!

I always say I'd love to have snow here, but I know it's something else to have to live with it daily. Oh, I hope your son can make it to the Shakespeare Competition! Do they video the competition (though I know it's not the same as being there).

No they don't. The teacher is trying to get permission from the school to take him, and she said she'd video tape it for me. I don't totally mind missing it, it's kind of boring.. it's all Shakespeare monologues, blah! But if he places I will wish I'd have seen it.

@katsmeow1213 Boring - I guess one can only take so much of Shakespeare . Well hopefully the teacher can take him so he can at least be there . . . and you'll get to see a video of it. And if he places, even more awesome!!

Issue Hope your son won't have to miss that he will be so bummed. The weather was awful here too. We got 15 1/2 inches of snow and the plows have to done a very good job at all.

They never do around here. The places that see the most traffic are plows the least. It's crazy.

@katsmeow1213 that's how it is here because the town plows take care of the little roads better then the state plows.

The weather seems really bad there. Hope it won't ruin your day. Here we start to feel the summer heat

It will be a shame if your son can't get to the competition. I hope he is able to get a ride with someone but of course you'll be really disappointed to miss it too.

He is the only one from our school going.. so it's hard to find a ride. The teacher said she'd try to take him but the school district has to approve it first.
