Do workplaces favour smokers?

I was reading this article. I said yes as i have had this as do pregnent workers are favoured specifically with breaks. I never say anything in work places as you get catty comments (as i've seen with coworkers in the past). I was reading the comments all smokers said no and non smokers said yes. When i was a supervisor many smokers would whine wnd go can i go for a smoke yet expected their 15 min breaks as well. So what i would do is sure you can for a smoke but change all garbages or clean the parking lot while doing so. Not a break but they can dmoke doing so, but were still working.

I have never worked with a smoker before so I cannot really say. I think here it would be seen as being lazy if you had to ask for a break just to smoke. Just my opinion.

I agree it is! I find most smokers take more breaks and lack a work ethic.

@ricki_911 No employer would like that. Maybe that is why most smokers don't request for one. Where I work, nobody has requested for a smoking break. I think that individual would be seen as someone who has an addiction.

Taking break for 3-4 minutes for smoking in my opinion is okay.

But as well as their 15 minute legal breaks?. Yet, those who dont smoke dont get those breaks and do more work for the smokers.

Where I worked the smokers had to wait until their break and than go outside when they smoked.
