do you wear gloves at work? do you wear gloves at home? a relative noticed those that wear gloves have pretty hands. another relative answered it's because, one, to avoid household products from seeping into the skin, and, two, so they don't have to wash their hands if they're interrupted or have to put the task on hold. i guess that would mean stocking up on clear plastic gloves and nylon gloves. but are these disposable gloves also biodegradable? also, why do we buy rags of all kinds now? what happened to old clothes, towels and bed sheets? are these disposable rags also biodegradable? this relative felt sorry for a younger relative. she said, "her hands don't look like that of a bank official." do your hands tell a story?

I wear gloves for heavy works, I do not want to ruin my hands. I still have towels and bed sheets. Yesterday I have brought two big bags of table clothes, napkins, towels and bed sheets from the apartment of my mother. They are new, never used. Mom loved to buy those things.

i'm sure you'll be finding all sorts of things there. sometimes the new, unused things only need dusting or washing because they were forgotten. but sometimes even the new things can't be used anymore if they were not protected or stored properly.

@hereandthere Everything was stored properly. I am going through all the drawers, shelves and cabinets. There is a lot more than I can bring home. I will donate to charities a lot.

we wear clean (not necessarily sterile) gloves in the ward. i don't wear gloves at home and yet my palms are soft. it is easily mistaken as not working hands, but i do work at home

do you put lotion on your hands? i guess my concern about all these disposable gloves is if they're biodegradable.

@hereandthere not all the time. i constantly wash my hands, but it is not rough, or thick. when i shake hands with any of my colleagues, or students, they tell me that my palms are soft. we always use clean gloves for every patient in the IMCU. there is this box of clean gloves and these are free size. usually too, the used gloves are disposed of in the 'infectious waste'.

I know I should wear gloves, but I never do . I need to "feel" whenever I do anything - that's just me. I have ugly hands to begin with - so I don't mind that they look worn . They're not too bad yet, but I know it will get there.

My hand shows that I always would wash my hand even if I have just been on my computer at the office. The veins are protruding. I wash the dishes without gloves too so that's why it's dry, although, I would always put a lotion on it every now and then at the office.

I wore gloves when I worked in a factory, otherwise, I see no need to wear one.I always wash my hands after household chores.

I wear gloves when cleaning or gardening, most of the time. I think we should have our skin protected from toxins and chemicals

Only that I'm getting older. I have lots and lots of rags that I use for various tasks rather than buying commercial dusters, etc.
