Its been way to long

So it has been forever sense I have been on here because everything turned for the worst it seems and I just haven't had the time plus my phone got shut off..so I just need to vent, today I got a letter from human services saying that I can't get foodstamps no more till December because I don't work 20 hours a week..OK first of all if you do find a job around here you will maybe get 14 hours a week..plus the know that I take care of my husband with all the problems he has..they are still giving him food stamps so we still have some and I know that it's more than other people get...it just gets to me when we do need help but we can't get it..and after we pay rent and other bills and so on we don't have money left..so I guess I get to go on a diet now:)
Rant over..well for now.

Im not sure how it works in the U.S. but can you get help from one of your local churches?

We have this one church that will give you help 6 times a year and hope ministry's will help 3 times a year.

I am sorry to hear that... maybe you can run videos for credit on sites like quickrewards and swagbucks any mypoints to help.. some days they work some days they do not though.... participating on mylot will help at times.. also ask friends and family is there are small jobs you can do for them they will pay you for.. if you can...

@hillhjill this stuff is not enough to live on but it can help you with a dollar here and there,,,, i would make a separate email just for those sites before joining as they do sent a lot of emails . I usually focus on search an earn sites as I do a lot of searches and watching videos..

Thanks I will have to look into those sites and as of family and doing stuff for them won't work because my mom believes that she should not ever have to give me money to help out once in awhile.

So sorry you've had a rough time lately. And so sorry they won't give you any foodstamps right now.
What if you go on your husbands? Like most couples are, would that make his go up you think since you aren't working or whatever? I know it would if you lived here. If not, sorry.
Hate that all states are different for FS and cash benefits and stuff.

@hillhjill thats weird. As foodstamps is for those who dont work / work small hours and need the help.
Ours you get them long as you're looking for a job which you have to show proof of.

We were on the same case they took me off because I don't work..they said that if I get a job then I can get food stamps.

Omg, glad to see ya back! I'm kinda in the same boat too. It took a total career 360 change for me for to get better. (Go from one public service job to another) things usually work out. For phone, try either safe link or q link wireless, (the obamaphone) you should be able to get that on your husbands food stamps. As far as food goes, is there a food bank close by? I know dollar tree takes food stamps now, plus you may have to resort to cooking cheap filling meals for awhile. Beans, potatoes, pasta, Tomato based plus mexican food is pretty cheap and filling. Extra money, here mylot helps maybe some odd jobs in the community can be done. Keep us all posted on how your doing!

I'm happy to be back as well...and I'm getting a phone next month so that part is took care of and we do have a couple food banks..one of them help 3 times a year and the other 6 times a year so that will help some what and yes I always looking for something to do on the side to make some money to help out.

I hear you my friend. I basically want to cry when I think of how much money I have (or should I phrase it I don't have) and it is really not fair. I basically make pennies. But then I think, other people would gladly like my writing jobs. I always hear stories of how I am not eligible for this and that. I have always found that you have to "know" somebody.

I would be thankful of any money I could make ton help out..and I know that we will be OK we always are..we just have to change are life style.

I hear ya and that is what we do but we run out of money so fast it seems only living off what my husband makes and then these long months kill us..so I will do what I have to do to make some extra money to bring in.

@hillhjill I agree. I hate maxing out my EBT card for big groceries every month between Aldis's and Giant Eagle. And when I've reached my limit, I would have to dip into my savings to pay the rest. I would love to have some leftover money to carry over, like I did last year.
