Facebook, a graveyard of friendships

Facebook in general is a great place to connect with others, don't get me wrong. But I'm sure we can relate to some extent that it is filled with a lot of "friends" we never interact with in real life. Other than the random adds from folks you may have talked to once or twice, there are those that may spark up different feelings and memories. Warning, petty rant down below. As petty as it may sound, I must confess that seeing posts from certain people strike up frustration. The worst to me are those that once were always around then one day out of the blue they weren't. They think they're being "genuine" by sending careless messages but no longer put effort into the convo or trying to hang out. Seeing their posts with other old friends is just a big fat reminder of what I'm missing out on. Or the fact that they don't care about me enough to include me or make time for me anymore. Most the time I forget all about them till i see a post. The solution is to delete or ignore. Does anyone else feel like this? On a positive note...Sometimes I come across and old friend's post and I smile because although we are not close the memories are humbling and it makes me happy to see them doing well :)

I have facebook but I use it to see what others are doing. I don't post there often. I usually only see birthday notices and selfies.

@taciaelisepeace With the recent Cambridge Analytica scandal, it seems Facebook will have a competitor in the near future.

Been a member of facebook since it's beta phase. I don't enjoy facebook now and in fact I don't post any personal stuff there anymore. It's full of sh!tty things. I use messenger app on my phone only because my employees use that to communicate to one another and my relatives from all over the word seem to know that only as a means of communicating to me.

Most of my facebook friends are just acquaintances of acquaintances. You always know who your true friends are.
