They took my nephew

So this past Friday I woke up to knocking on my door. Here is was my sister in law and mother in law and they told me social services has taken her child into foster care until further notice. They were both upset. The reason they took my nephew was because my sister in law made the big mistake of her son being 2 months old that she was giving him tastes of foods she shouldn't have been given. Even was giving him rice cereal in his bottle. Not cool. I warned her but a lot of people think they took that child for more than that reason. Now she has to fight to get him and hopefully she does get him back. She is already fighting for her other 2 oldest children. Prayers for my sister in law....

It sounds like she could benefit from parenting classes (which I think are usually required to get children back from foster care.) I am sorry she has repeatedly experienced this heartbreak of losing her children. I hope she can do what she needs to to be reunited with them.

Yes, I will put her in my prayers. However something very strange here. How could social services know what she was feeding the child? One way or another there should only be foods given that are good for a 2 months old. I hope it all works out for her.

I am pleasantly surprised that the government is so much concerned about the babies there in your country! Unfortunately in India the babies are getting stolen, getting killed or being sold out but there is no body to take care of them! Since I don't know about the laws of the land...I am unable to comment anything! But then I think baby would be happy with the mother only and I pray the Almighty that she be helped to get back the infant as early as possible! God bless all of us @carebear29! Thanks!

They would not take a child for that reason! It was dumb of her to do that but plenty of people do introduce cereal early on. I know some people gave cereal in a bottle for bedtime since they were born.

@carebear29 hmm well that’s good. It is hard here for a child to get taken away. My late husband was doing heroin and admitted it plus I had screenshots of the deals I showed them for proof and CPS said if wasn’t enough neglect he couldn’t have them alone. Scary to me what could have happened before they deemed him unsafe to take his children unsupervised.

She wouldn't be losing three kids, for no reason. They have to do a lot of investigation about child neglect, before they ever remove children from their biological mother. Just giving the infant certain food, is not the only reason.
