Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon, California, is home to the world's largest corn maze. The corn maze at Cool Patch Pumpkins is 63 acres. For those who are too intimidated by the world's largest corn maze to give it a try, they can hang out at the nice pumpkin patch on the property. If one plans to make his or her way through the world's largest corn maze, having a map of the 63-acre corn maze in hand is a wise thing to do. People can explore the corn maze during the daytime, or for those who like a bit more adventure, they can explore the corn maze in the dark. Of course, there are some folks who get lost and just cannot find their way out of the world's largest corn maze no matter how hard they try. Many calls to 911 are made by those lost-in-the-corn-maze folks. Photo Credit: Cool Patch Pumpkins
Some people daring enough to enter the largest corn maze in the world were getting so lost they had to call 911 for help, police said.

Oh gosh, wouldn't that be embarrassing?. They shouldn't tie up 911 with that..they should put the number of the main office in various strategic locations in the maze so if you are lost you can get someone to come out for you, or give you instructions..

Well, they do have maps of the maze,, but not everyone takes a map. And, there are some who are not good at reading maps at all. Yes, the owners of the maze should be the ones to rescue folks, but if a map with the owner number is lost or forgotten, then a person has to call 911.

Are people really that stupid? The maze is a square, surrounded by roads/paths on all four sides at the perimeter. Just walk in a straight line and you'll eventually hit one of those roads. It's not that hard! lol

@Corbin5 I think people who make senseless 911 calls like that should be charged a fee for wasting emergency personnel's valuable time. And to think that when they are on that call with the 911 operator, someone with a true emergency may not be able to get through to get help.

@just4him The special education coordinator, a former colleague of mine, said those of us who have a poor sense of direction merely have a learning disability when it comes to finding our way here and there. She has it, and she is brilliant. Her sense of direction is worse than mine. Some folks are born with a good sense of direction and others not.

I don't think 911 must be happy with that yet I would be more likely to try a maze if I knew I would be rescued. I did a corn maze once as a team building exercise at work.

I think it will be bad to bother the police so much with this. I hope the farmers will give them a map how to go out in case the people can't find their way out. Or is it possible to depend on GPS to go out? This is a challenge to try such a big maze. I am sure I will get lost there as I even can be lost in my city

Well, maps are available to everyone, but some folks lose the map or forget to take one with them. GPS is worth a try. My husband said just walk straight in one direction and you will come out of the maze on one side of the maze eventually. However, I think you'd have to knock down a lot of corn stalks if you do not follow the path in the maze.

We have corn maze here and it's fun to go pumpkin picking and wandering through the corn maze but anything we have can't compare to that one in your post. I'm not a fan of corn maze but my kids and grandkids all think it's part of the fun on a day out.

I know my son and husband could easily make it through that maze, but I have a tendency to get lost quite often. Some are born with a great sense of direction, and others not.
