It's bad news that the lettuce I've planted last week had died. Turns out black ants were on it consuming from within.
I forgot that if the soil is wet all the time, it's vulnerable to infestation. So I replanted the pots with the newly grown ones.
Except for the other two, the rest of it died.

@Letranknight2015 I wish I can. We are having a dilemma with the evil relatives. It would be useless do plat things up here. Soon, we will move out and build a new house for the family.

Hello @shaggin It's been hard to plant lettuce but I guess there's hope when you start with the seeds.

Having ants around plants that are slightly sweet is common. You must spray them with a mild insecticide.

what my mother did was hang the pots from the gate. she used the big bottled water containers as pots. i think others use plastic softdrink bottles.

@Letranknight2015 maybe hanging them might help keep them out of reach of ants while putting holes my help keep the soil a little dry, instead of soaking wet

@hereandthere There are other insects though and for the moment im sure a chili watered spray to kept the plants from being infested.
