A mylot response that can be annoying...

"Thanks for sharing!"
When I interact with someone, I try my best to have a real conversation, especially when I could relate to that discussion. And then the only comment I would receive is, 'thanks for sharing?'
I am here in Mylot to interact, to have fun, and share a little something my puny brain could. But I guess some members are only here to earn money, money, money that they don't take time and effort to actually enjoy and interact, and have a great conversation with people who stumbled upon their shallow discussions.
Am I ranting? Darn I'm ranting. Guess it's that time of the month again!

when i got to 'puny brain' i instantly remembered 'shallow discussions' and as i read further, yep, there it was! hahaha! i guess they call it "being social" or "being polite" or "returning the favor" but can't relate to the topic.
if i read something that i appreciate knowing, i'll try to add something, not just 'thanks for sharing'. if i can't, i like it and read through the responses and comments and like any new info they added.

@toniganzon sometimes i leave them on purpose and let others see them and come to their own conclusions. but, yeah, i've deleted some in the past but for different reasons.

Yep, not worth of a discussion at all!
Two people here just told me that I should have patience coz some responses do deserve a thanks for sharing lol!

@toniganzon You can add a "thanks for sharing" at the end of a comment, but when you see where they write this comment it is ridiculous. I am sure that a "breakfast post" deserves a "thanks for sharing", so useful to know what people have in the morning.

I am a very observant person here in mylot. Just like Jj I see a lot of members and I know what they are here for. I'm sorry you m misunderstood. If you are someone I was referring to, then definitely you won't be here anymore.

What most people don't realise is that, the more they try to earn as many money here and as quick as possible, the more chances they are in violating the rules, and the more chances they have of not earning at all.
I think these people have to learn the essence of the site before they could actually benefit from it.

I'm definitely with you and I've had some good conversations here but sometimes it's impossible to give anything but a like because the comment puts an end to the conversation. I think sometimes it is a language barrier problem but other times people just don't want to engage in conversation, they just make a comment to earn a penny.
On some sites I belong to there is a minimum post count so very short comments wouldn't be allowed.

You are right about that. There's this person here who commented thanks for sharing in all responses in his discussion. How does he expect to earn anything from that. And he has been here for some time now and not only today or just a couple of days.

@toniganzon Do admin allow that as I think that is taking advantage of the system. Sometimes we only need a short comment or a like if a conversation is coming to an end but not the same comment every time.

A discussion is a discussion and not sloppy comments put down at random. Maybe they don't even read our post! I had one person here a long time ago kept asking me how I was. Every comment was how are you? I would say fine, how are you. The reply back was good. It went on for weeks. For some strange reason I found him funny though not annoying. Still it is always nice to have a real discussion.
But something to keep in mind as we might find short comments annoying is there is always the well intentioned person that might put in a short comment and when given a good reply start up a really good discussion we might like. It's hard to know for sure what is going on at the other end?

I know exactly what you mean. And yes I've tried to respond back so I could keep it going, but nope, no reply whatsoever. And all three discussions I've responded too had the same comment: thanks for sharing.

It was a good rant Toni! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
But, if you posted a beautiful picture of a sunset on the beach, my natural reaction would be to say "thanks for sharing!" Because who doesn't like a beautiful sunset? haha

@toniganzon My son had a great birthday! We took him to a nice Mexican restaurant on his birthday (last Thursday), and then on Friday we took him out for a nice steak dinner, and then on Saturday the grandparents all came to visit to celebrate his birthday, and so we cooked out on the barbecue grill and had seafood. So, in addition to the nice birthday he had, we also fattened him up a little bit with all the food we fed him! lol

I responded to three of his discussions with a really valuable comment that could start into a great conversation that would help him earn, and what did I get in return? Thanks for sharing! Now he's never gonna earn anything from me.

I try to interact with a lot of different Mylotters. My intent is to respond to any and all comments made to my discussions and to comment on any discussion that catches my eye. The last month and a half I have been with no internet, or too busy to spend much time here. Right now I'm doing laundry at the laundromat and putting in time

I interact with a lot of mylotters whether I follow them or not. I take time to interact with the new ones as well as long as I could relate to their discussion. Interaction really matters a lot to me here. That's why I rarely make my own discussion. I don't post a discussion every single day though I'm here most of the time. It's because I enjoy interacting in other's discussions especially when I have nothing on my mind to start my own.

@Morleyhunt Some people are just in a hurry to earn a few cents they really don't care about interaction here. And @iridion9 just said that I should get used to it coz that's not breaking the guidelines here. But according to thehbousewife, it actually is, and I could report that kind of response or comment.

@toniganzon I've seen your comments on my discussions. They are worth responding to. Thanks for sharing, doesn't really require a response...a like is usually how I respond to the non comment.

LOL, sometimes if I cannot think of a reply I just say thank you on a comment I get.
But I expect people to be .... to be... unexpected.

there are responses that really does deserve only a thank you. But I know you're not someone who does that without actually reading the responses in your discussion.

Leaving a simple 'thanks for sharing' is just too easy. A good response or comment adds value to one's discussion...

It's not bad to leave that kind of comment when some responses do deserve that. But not in all comments in all responses that was given to several discussions by one user. That is really annoying. Especially when the response is one of value that requires a real interaction.

The responses that make no sense to me whatsoever, are the ones that have nothing to do with the post. I look at that response and my brain gets ? all over it. I sometimes wonder why the person even bothered with the post, unless as you say, it's all about the money.
Too bad they don't know that it's in interaction they will make the money, not in making benign statements irrelevant to the post.

@toniganzon I bet it is the same one I have gotten that response from as well. I am not sure he cares what anyone responds but he would earn more money if he would contribute to a response from others.I don't know why some of them are on here if they don't want to interact with people

Only when people post about their problems do I leave a short but sweet comment such as "Thanks for sharing". I am certainly not here to involve myself in other people's drama let alone have a discussion about it. :-)
