Family Frustration

I've mentioned before that my sister is the most frustrating person on this planet. We speak every Sunday from generally noon until 4 pm (unless I can get her off before then). She can yak about one subject for hours at a time. I called her and got voicemail and figured she didn't change her clock. So when I still hadn't heard from her at 2, I called her again and said if she didn't call me by 3, I was calling the police for a welfare check. Then I called her son to find out if they had their usual Saturday phone call. Voice mail. She finally calls me at 2:15 saying she didn't understand why she didn't hear the first call but she did have the TV volume on at 52. 52??? Are you kidding me? That level is enough to shatter windows. She had ear surgery over a year ago and was given a hearing aid; which she DOES NOT wear. She said she went to bed at midnight; woke up at 6:30; fed the dogs and let them out and then laid back down at 8 and then didn't wake up until 2:15. Are you kidding me? I told her it's a good thing she lives 2 hours away from me because I was going to come up there and kick her ASS. She drives me crazy.

Its common for older folk to have tvs on 30+. Heck I watch my tvs at 30-40 level. Plus all tvs are different as to how loud they are on each level. Like my moms loud 15 is my tvs 25. But glad she got in touch with you

Heck, I'm older than she is and have a fractured cochlea @Courtlynn . The last time she pulled this on me, I did call the police for a welfare check. She was upset. Well duh!!! Answer your damn phone.

@Courtlynn And if anything bad were to happen to her, I'd need to go get her dogs and take care of them.

Wow, no doubt soon her dogs will be deaf too. I hope she doesn't have any neighbours close by.

She has a house on either side but it's also a fenced yard, so I don't know if the neighbors can hear anything or not. It's also a brick house, so maybe the insulation is pretty good for sound @JudyEv . Yeah, I worry about the dogs too.

I guess she lives alone - one reason why she can sleep anytime she wants.

Let's see. Midnight to 6:30. Up for 1 hour. Then back to sleep at 8 til 2:15. I think that's plenty @Kandae11

@nanette64 As one of my favorite Star Wars characters would say, "Patience you must have, my young Padawan."

Yeah, me too. She has a lot of health problems, so if something went wrong, I'd need to make the 2 hour trip to her place to bring the dogs home with me. That happened once before when she wouldn't get her butt to the hospital (after I told her repeatedly) and she had a ruptured Kidney. She was in the hospital for 10 days that time. @Courage7 . So when she doesn't answer the dang phone; it worries me and then to find out the reason? THAT ticks me off.

Well she didn't deliberately not call you if she was asleep. I suppose if she lives alone no one else will be inconvenienced by the TV being on loud. Glad she called you in the end.

Except her poor dogs @jaboUK . Can you imagine with the ear sensitivity that dogs have how loud that has to be for them? They're indoor dogs.

She pulled it on me one other time @amadeo and I did call the police. When they showed up, they has to knock quite a bit before she answered the door. What was she doing???? Sleeping.

Yikes! She really needs to wear her hearing aids. Something bad could happen and no one would be able to get in touch with her!

The good thing is, she's all right. 52 is a might high. I have my TV at 10 for regular TV, but if I'm watching Netflix, I need to turn it as high as 15, but usually around 13.
