Yesterday, my husband decided to finish off our back door. He stained some wood strips and then nailed them into place, to frame it in. We've lived here almost five years. When the new back door was hung, it was never completely finished. I think it looks beautiful! I'm very proud of my husband's abililty to do wood-working

Yes, you should see the lovely picnic tables we built together! I think we sold five of them, then gave one to our neighbor for a wedding gift, we kept one, and took another one to our daughter's family:)

@mydanods Jay learned it in high school. Then, he worked at two building centers, for over 20 years. He use to build furniture, but can't any more because he's allergic to wood. It was his fun hobby.

@kobesbuddy Not good sorry to hear that. Is he allergic to the dust if so he could always wear a mask when working with it.

Thanks, Valerie:) Little by little, this old home is taking shape. It was pretty run down, for about 20 years, when Dad and Mom could no longer keep up with maintenance. They wouldn't let anyone help them, ever.

@just4him When things broke, Dad was no longer able to fix them. Yet, when we offered to help, they'd get very upset!
