I found these lateness excuses on a website and found it pretty strange along with getting a good chuckle out of it. Thought I would share it with you and get your reactions.
These were a few of the unusual excuses employees came up with for being late for work:
-My cat got stuck in the toilet.
-I was watching a TV program and wanted to see how it ended.
-I was wearing the wrong shoes and had to go back home to change .
-The sunrise was so beautiful I had to stop and take it in.
-I cut my hair myself and had to go to a salon to get it fixed.
-My mother-in-law wouldn't stop talking.
Did you ever used an excuse similar to any of the one's mentioned here? Have you ever created a strange yet funny reason for being late for work?

@dgobucks226 At my times, we had to bring with us justification written by our parents if we did not do our homework.

I always remembered the excuses kids would give for not having their homework. Kind of the same idea but maybe not as creative as these excuses.

DB, are you speaking from experience with the mother-in-law one?

Wow, those are some strange ones. "My cat got stiuck in the toilet"? I wonder how that works.

@dgobucks226 Oh gross! But true, that would be how the cat would come to be in the toilet after all

When I had a cat she used to drink out of the toilet on occasion. Very strange but true. Maybe that excuse is not so bizarre

When I was still employed, I always go to work early, was never late. I'm very particular with time. Now that I have my own company, I seem to lose patience with employees who do. Because when one is passionate with his or her job, one will always come on time. However, there are emergency situations that I can consider.

Yes, I think a passion for your job can play into one's tardiness. Nice that you are your own boss now!
