What is the strangest food you have eaten or seen eaten?

Have you ever eaten something unusual, or seen someone else who has? When he was a teenager my younger son used to take delight in going into a cake shop and asking for a custard tart with tomato sauce. I'm not sure whether he really liked them, or whether he was just doing it to gross out the shop girls. When both my boys were in primary school and I used to do my duty on tuckshop, we would make our own lunches there once we had finished serving the kids. I often made banana and cheese sandwiches, which the other mothers thought were rather strange, but I thought was as delightful combination. Of course, I have also eaten some interesting things in my travels, some of which I would prefer not to think about too much. :-)

@rebelann They are called street foods, my friend. They are more on the internal organs of domestic animals here.

I have never eaten something strange yet as I do not insist myself to eat something which I do not like whether it could be the taste or the look itself. =)

There are many dishes in India which rest of the World may not know at all...so while they are natural or regular dishes to me they may become strangest for others! Thanks @lynnief !!

My husband and I got a sushi variety platter once at a Japanese Restaurant and I tried raw Octopus. I know it sounds gross but surprisingly, I thought it was better than some of the other raw fishes.

I haven't had raw octopus, but I did try raw fish in the Philippines and absolutely loved it.

I am not at all adventurous when it comes to food. Digestive biscuits with Cheddar cheese is about as 'unusual' as it gets for me.
