Health benefits of cinnamon

Have you heard about the health benefits of cinnamon? This common spice is a powerhouse of goodness. Firstly, it is packed with antioxidants and trace elements that are important for our health - scientists have detected more than 40 so far! It also has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Researchers increasingly believe that chronic inflammation in the body underlies most, if not all, serious diseases, so it stands to reason that anything that can help reduce inflammation is going to be helpful to our health. Cinnamon helps reduce bad cholesterol and high blood pressure, and also helps balance blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity, which is a great help for those with diabetes or pre-diabetes. It boosts immune levels and can help prevent cognitive decline, and may even help to prevent cancer. All these benefits can be gained from as little as half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day. Also, if you have been trying to give up sugar in your coffee, but can't get past that last spoonful, try a good sprinkling of cinnamon instead - it will sweeten it just enough so you don't need the sugar. For something so cheap and so readily available, this spice is close to miraculous.

I use cinnamon when I prepare apple purée. I'd be very careful with "it may even help to prevent cancer." If that were the case, all the world would know about it. Up to now, nothing is known that can prevent cancer.

Oh I'm sure there are cancer cures @MALUSE . But what on earth would these poor doctors and hospitals do for extra money! Yes I am a cynic.

@MALUSE Stopping the use of chemicals, pesticides, steroids, and antibiotics in our foods. Our bodies were not meant to ingest those things and the bodies response is to attack infected cells; ergo, the good cells are overwhelmed by the poisons causing the cancers.

Cinnamon & Honey blended together (looks like chocolate frosting) can cure: scratches, bites and will cure an animal or human bitten by a poisonous snake within 24 hours. And I know those for a fact since I ran an animal shelter.
