There are times when some people just start getting into our heads and you have no choice but to straight away block them. But later you find them boasting around, that those who block others have attitude issues, is that really true. I don't think so, what do you think? Image Credit:- Pixabay.

I fully agree with @thehousewife. We need a serious reason to block someone. Not having the same ideas is not a reason.

I have unfriended people on Facebook because I got tired of seeing their 'garbage' every day. If they get too raunchy, it is 'bye bye."

@akalinus In Facebook I have also unfriended several people. I do not want to have my wall filled of garbage, fake news and silly tips.

Right I was being bugged because he wanted to prove me wrong for what I wrote and when I ignored his comment and moved on he addressed me as having Attitude Problem in my other post for not replying to his comment.

A few weeks ago I was having a good conversation with someone, then they got frustrated because I disagreed with their opinion and cited a source of my own to back my argument, and then they called me a know-it-all with a brain deficiency, and blocked me. I consider that to be hateful and highly immature. All I was doing was having a conversation, and they took it as an offense, and had to get the last word in. If that is your reason to block someone, then you really need to retire from life in general. Because lots of people will have different opinions. It's a reason to learn. Plus a counter argument of 'nope, this is the reason' is not a good one. Two years ago, someone did the same thing with me, and blocked me after getting their last word in, insulting me, and claiming victory. I'm sad to see they still live (yes, very agitated because their insult was very mean). It was a colossal waste of time, because it had gone on for so long before they got immature about it.

@akalinus The whole reason I cited my source material was because I was interested in the other party's information, but they bowed out and blocked me. I was surprised and offended that I couldn't respond... and then realized that I had just been blocked for little to no good reason at all. That angers me. lol

@OneOfMany Don't let it bother you. Just smile and keep going. People are sometimes petty and immature and do things like that to intimidate you and make you feel bad. They are not worth your time and anger.

Some people are very immature and think that their opinions are the only ones that matter.

I think blocking is immature. It's not hard to be the bigger person & just skip along or ignore the person.

I agree Michelle, but what if the person keeps on bugging you around every now and then or at times even insults you?

I've never blocked anyone but I don't think I would want to shout about it even if I did. Not really my style.

We all deserve peace! If you're been troubled by that person then it's fine, but if you feel that you guys share a different option, then it's wrong to block the person

No it wasn't about opinion but he just wanted to prove me wrong on what I had mentioned on my post whereas it was something that really happened with me.

I have found only one person that I just couldn't mesh with but I didn't block I just kinda ignore. lol Now if they started stalking, making ignorant comments or such then I would probably block and not care what they had to say.

Good of you ignoring them and later if still bothering then blocking them will be the wise thing to do no matter what they say

Over the years I have blocked a few people for various reasons. Mostly I just unfriend them, but if they are stalking other members and/or threatening violence, I don't want to see that kind of activity on here. I have been on and off myLot for decades and seen a lot, but I get very busy and am absent a lot too. I just don't have time to keep track of people, not even those I like and respect on here, so if someone is misbehaving, I think blocking them is a good idea. It is a tool. It is meant to be used when appropriate. As for attitude issues, who cares what nasty people think? If they cared what the rest of us think, they wouldn't be annoying people.

Very nicely said, its a tool which is meant to be used in extreme conditions if someone is really bothering you to that level. I like when you said "As for attitude issues, who cares what nasty people think? If they cared what the rest of us think, they wouldn't be annoying people."

@nitirrbb7 Nitin, both actually. Someone blocked me because they did not like what I had to say, but, it was not the one that posted it but someone else. I accidentally blocked someone and unblocked them.

@Hannihar Ok that was strange the one who blocked you was someone else and not the one who posted. People can be very unpredictable at times.

Once I read an article that was about how to reduce everyday stress. One of the tips was to block people that frustrates us on facebook. I didn't block them, but I pushed hide from newsfeed button. Now when I watch my facebook feed, I won't see their posts anymore. And I have to say that it is better now.

@nitirrbb7 Yes, you can block, than the blocked person won't see anything about your profile and posts, etc. If you hide, the hidden person can see your activity, but you can't see what the person shares on facebook until you check his/her profile page.
