Strange indian education practices

I got suprised by today response for my post school days - memories to be remembered,where most of them asked start of my schooling. Actually I started my schooling as a baby in the age of 2.5 years in the elementary school, which is too early but that is the procedure here and the main problem is school admission in top schools.so parents will start booking in schools immediately after naming the babies itself and they have to attend the interview whether they are eligible enough to guide their children.
