I came upon mylot more than 7 years ago when I was searching for a forum for Blackberry users all over the world. During that time only a few people from my country were using Blackberry phones and all were businesspeople who had no idea about BBM.
I was surprised when I saw that mylot pays. I never doubted for one second that it was a scam. I started some discussions which never caught anybody's attention (very common among newbies!). They were too formal, too serious, and not too personal. Then I realised I should write about myself and what's going on in my side of the world. That caught people's attention.
Mylot then was different from mylot now and there were really a lot of interaction. Real talk and real interaction as you get rated for every action. People don't just say, how are you doing, or thanks for sharing, or thank you.
And that's why I am still here. Because I simply love interacting. And by doing so, I get rewarded few cents! 
I get to learn about other country's culture, I get to meet all sorts of personalities. I became more knowledgeable about the realties of the world.

@toniganzon And what you read in the newspapers and see on the TV etc doesn't always give you a true sense of 'normal' or 'ordinary'.

@toniganzon Yes! ! Now, I'm here to pass some time rather than watch TV at night or whenever. Sometimes I get fed up and watch a movie or two. But I try to be in bed by 11PM

@1hopefulman I watch tv while mylotting but only during weekends after work. I mylot when at work too when it's not busy. I hardly watch tv during the weekdays, I watch movies and shows on my computer and when I do, no mylotting at all. I go to bed at 10pm.

I started using the computer for fun when I was in chemo. The only place where I could go was to the hospital and that wasn´t fun at all. At the old mylot I found some people who had similar problems and we became friends. I miss some of them that did not come back to the new mylot.
I have learned a lot of things from other people here. It has been rewarding in every sense.

Indeed it is rewarding.
There were some mylot members who had already passed away. Sad but that's reality. There were a few here who talked about cancer and how they were battling it. Mylot is a journal to most and it helped them cope up with depression. Especially with the old mylot where interaction were more personal and sincere.

@marguicha Yeah, same with me. I had a best friend here in mylot whose username was Chuyins. He's no longer here. But we are still friends in other social media site. I believe he is now a Dean in one of the universities in his province.

I joined mylot in 2010 and mylot existed before that year I think coz there are members who have been here for 10 years. I've been here almost 8.

I joined MyLot 7 years ago but I can't remember why and I haven't spent much time here in those years! I suppose I'm here for the same reason as you, the interaction with people from all over the world. Is that you in the pic? Pretty lady

@sprite1950 I haven't been on many sites. I was in bubblews and I think I saw you there too but I didn't stay there long as I didn't like it there. though it paid a lot of money, it's something that can't make me stay in a site.

I've only been on myLot for two years, and I love it here! I get to meet people from all over the world (like you!), and interact them. This site transcends geographical and political boundaries!

Hello Jeff! I have noticed you from the time you joined in mylot and I think I have interacted with you in your own discussion when I was active here. But there was several months in the past that I wasn't here, but I still remember and I could even still recall the first profile picture of yourself in mylot. I like this profile pic though than the one you had before.

Back in the old mylot everybody interacted with each other in one discussion because we can't start our own discussion without having read and responded to the ones who did respond first.

I came to My Lot since the other social media sites that pay went out of business. I was invited by a fellow writer of another social media site that went under about two years ago.

I was active on two other sites, that closed down. It made me feel disconnected, from others on the Internet! I lost contact with some very wonderful people:( Then, I signed up for My Lot about two years ago and did absolutely nothing at all. I didn't understand how it works. About seven months ago, I wrote a silly discussion and stayed active since that day, July 22, 2017. I love it here!

@toniganzon Yes, and the other one was Triond. I was making good money, about $300 a month with writing on Bubblews and doing surveys, also.

I learned about mylot from my older sister. she encouraged me to join here instead of just playing games online and let time pass. but it was more than a year before i tried opening this site.
so when i started writing discussions and got interactions from members here who came from different parts of the world, i began enjoying and missing it..
Actually, i already quit mylotting but i came back because i missed it...

@toniganzon I mean I praised the technology,internet and especially mylot which we can get the knowledge by communicating different people.so we don't need to go every country....we even can sit in a closed room and know other people.Amazing isn't it?

True. Back then in the old mylot, we can interact with everybody in one discussion. We are not allowed to start our own when one has already responded, we have to react on the first response. So that made almost everybody then interact with each other and got to know each other.
I remember there were even mylot meet ups for members who lived close to each other.

@toniganzon That was an interesting system. People seem not to be interested in discussing now. Some post discussion after discussion and never care to check if people commented.

I agree with you. Though we do not know each other personally, we see a glimpse of each other here and the world we live in. I have been away for some time but still, I came back here because I missed telling you of my thoughts without thinking of people judging you. It is nice here.

I was one of the refugees coming over from the sinking Bubblews. I wanted to retain the interaction with several of the people, but it faded after a while. Around 2016, it got far too political and I had to leave. I come and go, but the more I get blocked by people, the less desire I feel to remain. There's only one person who I routinely chat with on here.

That's why I never touch those issues as I don't want to be involved in any altercation that will led me being blocked. I feel you. I have been blocked by a fellow Filipino just because we had differences in opinion. I didn't expect that from a man.

@OneOfMany I have blocked a couple not because of the arguments. But because those people have offended me by attacking my personality and race. There's even one who told me I'm stupid because I'm a Filipino and our president is a joke. That wasn't even part of the discussion.

7 years is a long time. I came almost 2 years ago so came after the changes were made. Someone I know that is on here too told me about it and so I decided to try it. At first I was not sure so left and then came back and do not plan on leaving ever again. I really like it here.
