I am the object of my cat's affections...for all the wrong reasons!!

The people who I had gotten her from told me, insisted rather, that the cat was "fixed". Imagine my surprise when, a few weeks later my spayed cat goes into heat. Now she won't leave me alone. She rubs up against me with her face and gives me that watery eyed look. When I pet her she goes into the downward 'dog' position with her butt in the air. She will sit by me and meow, and purr affectionately and rub against my feet. She follows me everywhere. I can't get a moments peace. I can't afford to get her spayed right now and watching her go through this breaks my heart, but what can I do? I certainly can't do what she obviously wants me to do. ~sigh~

Oof, that is a rough situation. the stray cats go nuts when they are in heat. I hope you are able to get her fixed at some point.

Me too. I'll be calling the SPCA to see if they can help or recommend someone who can. Thanks. :-)

That's a tough situation. I have seen videos that resolve that problem, but I can't remember what they did exactly (it was not what she wants you to do). You could search YouTube to see if that solution is there.

Haha! I wouldn't want a video tutorial on "how to mate with your cat". :-D I will check online for some other tips though. Thanks! :-)

That has to be hard on you. It is a shame they didn't tell you the truth about her being fixed. I wish you luck with this.

Tough situation. Guess you just have to wait it out and when you can get her fixed. Perhaps this can help.
An un-spayed female cat will go into heat, meaning she's ready to mate, every three to four weeks.Reproduction in the Dog and Cat. Christianseen. Publisher: Baillierie-Tindal Usually, this involves howls, screeches, writhing, and attempts...

No idea what to do right now other than keep her indoors or you'll end up with kittens!! Once her season ends if you can't afford to spay her contact some of the pet charities many offer reduced or free neutering!

Yes. The SPCA veterinarian hospital will do that. I'll need to make some calls. Thank you. :-)
