Honey, as everything, must be consumed in moderation, due to its high fructose content.

@kavinitu Honey can also be harmful if you consume too much honey. Raw cane sugar is a lot better than white refined sugar.

@LadyDuck Yeah heard of that raw sugar cane is much better then actual sugar we use, but I still don't get it sugar is made from sugar cane then what happens to it that it becomes so dangerous for our health after converting?

I am sorry dear @kavinitu...as I am having different opinion about this ...what ever points you have mentioned here are equally applicable to sugar as it is natural, free of fats, increasing stamina etc. in fact honey can cause a lot of allergies as the bees collect nectar from various flowers available around their hives! there is no evidence how it helps in reducing the body weight1 We have many bee hives on the farm and get several kgs of fresh honey which I always ask my labour to enjoy and I never ever got a single gram for my personal use as I never got convinced abiut the facts , being claimed on the net! By tyhe way are you influenced by Ramdev Baba? Thanks!

Honey is the best alternative of sugar. But our food habit should match with our lifestyle. Excessive intake will always do the damage to human body irrespective of any food. Yes every food has vitamins but we need to have a control on it. That will be a healthy goodness for we human.

@kavinitu Of course, a table spoon of honey per day is really good. I think it can't be bad or harmful to anyone. I meant that eg. having three teas per day with full of honey can be too much sugar for us.

I take a teaspoon of honey as soon as I wake up in the morning. That's before water. On days when I don't have honey, I take lemon water.

@kavinitu Natural not cultured raw honey should be taken without any mixture and should be placed inside the mouth until in melts. it biomes more effective that away in getting rid of toxins in the body and curing nasal congestions, sinuses, and soar throats. Lemon infused water need not have honey in it.

I think honey has a lower level of Glucose value then what sugar has which does not increase the sugar levels in blood as much as the sugar does directly. So I guess having it in a moderate amount will do, what say?

The issue is pure honey is expensive but there are substitutes. I consumed honey that was readily available in supermarkets but that was not pure and resulted in increased sugar levels in my blood. So one has to take care to consume only pure honey - siva

I love honey and have for years used it instead of cane sugar whenever possible, and I am blessed to be able to access raw honey through the local markets. However, I am now cutting back on all sugar intake, so honey is down to a minimum too.

Nice of you to do so, its good you have raw honey available in the local markets. Its good to have honey also to its lowest as it also contains sugar in it but the glucose levels are not as much as sugar have.
