I just know that Floyd Tillman wrote it and had the first recording of it. I also remember Ernest Tubb's version.
Oh, and that this was the only song not by Eddy Arnold to be #1 for nearly two years.

Well, I don't remember it (it was a little more than a decade before I was born!), but I definitely know the song.
Floyd Tillman wrote it and had the first recording of it. Of course, back then, when someone recorded a song and had a hit everyone and his brother came along and covered it.
