I’m not the kind of person who would try to make prejudice before meeting a person, but there’s this woman that I don’t know but acquired enough knowledge about through one of her social networks to hate her. I know I might be wrong, but only time will tell. What about you ? Did you ever hate someone you’ve never met before ?

I could never hate someone I don't know, but I can dislike their opinions and actions. Do I know why they think like that or why they are the way they are? No. If i don't know them, who am I to judge them?

A thought provoking topic...I think human nature does gets influenced by external things and even if we have not met the person, we might hate or love that person based on our prejudiced perception.

I'm not the person who would make prejudiced perception before meeting a person, but this woman is a real evil.

Hate is always such a harsh word in my view. But I think you can dislike someone you have never met. There are MANY celebrities and politicians I can think of the I do not like, but have never met based largely on their political views.

@august18 Not for me. He ranks high on my list. He is doing amazing things for this country right now. Of course we will disagree. But there is sooo much good happening. He is doing an amazing job so far in my view.

@porwest I don't know him. But I hear on the grapevines he's not a good person. That's the good thing about hearing things from different persons.

Yes, I have hated many people with whom I have talked over phone, though never met face to face. It's not necessary to meet people to judge them. Their words are enough to tell what kind of person they are.

I think hate is too strong a word. Dislike, but not hate. There are a few members here I dislike and I think I got to know them through their discussions and interactions. Though I haven't met them personally, the personality they're showing here is the exact personality I wouldn't like at all to meet in person.

I don't "hate" anyone, but I certainly can disagree with/dislike what they do and say. I may be able to tell from what a person posts on line that I would not get along with them in person.

You cant really...reason is always there. Yes there are some people who have a tendency to dislike a particular religious kind of persons. Also there are people too who does think that these(a group) people are advantageous. Whatever happens in the world is always for a reason to support that and same thing applies to us too.

I never hated anyone for their religious beliefs, I don't hate this woman for her religious beliefs either. But her rude remarks towards other people what made hate her this much.

@august18 maybe she had that kind of history during her childhood or by someone she had been pressurized for something or family issue. Anything it can be..

wooooh... sorry to hear that... but as of me... hate is a great word... like you really don't like that person or won't like that person for a long time... as for me...if i haven't seen that person yet, i wouldn't hate him or her instead, dislike...

i think it is possible because of the influences we have. Sometimes we hear rumors about that person and our perception of that person would be to hate on them even if you do not know them personally. This usually happens when a friend of yours is involved.

@august18 well that could be another reason. That person seems to be mean saying sarcastic remarks.

I didn't hear rumors. I saw her sarcastic remarks on other people's posts. I don't even know who she really is in real life. We're just members of the same online community.

No I couldn't hate someone I've never met. Hate is such a strong word. I don't take what people say about others at face value. I would have to meet them to form any lasting or temporary opinion.

@august18 You must 'feel' that there is something about her you do not trust. The word I choose to use for this is indifference.

If you hear about an unknown person from others about what all they have been doing then probably yes .
