But I tend to believe what someone said here that Indian are intelligent - I did not say it. There could be some truth in it as after all it was Aryabhata who invented the digit zero. Then there was Ramanujan - a maths genius. They say whoever is good in Maths is intelligent. I am good in Maths Here is a link on Aryabhata

Congratulations! It's refreshing to see someone bursting with self-confidence. A nice contrast to the many members who have an inferiority complex and/or suffer from depression.

Many doctors come from India in the UK. Some are excellent but there are some who are barely average. There are intelligent people in every race likewise there are many who are just average or below average! Glad you like maths. I can't stand mathematical problems! I can work things out but don't ask me how I did it though!

When a statement is made it is done with some kind of statistics. No doubt every country can boast of achievers.

@garymarsh6 Assuming you are a success in life then that theory about being good in maths to be a success is defeated

Every race has its intelligent people - and its not-so-intelligent.

I think genius has been sprinkled everywhere and from time to time. There should be some "method in the madness" of creation! It is time for another Einstein and, maybe, another sage to lead us forward as we seem to have lost our way despite GPS all over the place! siva

But in general I have come across many saying that Indians have a higher percentage of intelligent people.

@Shiva49 Intelligence does not mean one is successful in life.

@allknowing My observation is Indians apply themselves conscientiously than most others. They are good in maths and science. But taken as a whole we are not able to work to uplift our country as we are quarrelsome and argumentative; we lose sight of the big picture - siva

I barely pass my math subjects in school. But an analytical mind and the use of logic is not the sole purview of Mathematics. I also find "street-smarts" a more practical form of intelligence.

There is something else too that is given more attention and that is Emotional Intelligence or EQ as it is normally referred to.
