My Current Yarn Projects

A few weeks ago, I started on a second pair of socks for the sock knitting club that I joined at the beginning of the year. The design is fairly easy to knit but if I am not paying attention to where I am in the design, I can mess it up. Yay. While I was at the yarn store on Thursday evening, I bought some yarn for a crocheted poncho. I started working on it that night and, so far, I'm about 1/3 of the way around the neckpiece. I am also making knitted hats to use up some yarn that one of the ladies from the knit group gave to me. She was cleaning out her project room and wasn't going to use this yarn. I'll be making more hats for the kids who go to a local community center. I'm pretty sure I'll start another pair of plain socks pretty soon. It seems like I need to have a half a dozen projects going at the same time. That reminds me. I need to get back to work on a vest that I am knitting with alpaca yarn, a summer top that I started to knit at least 3 years ago, and a sweater coat that I started to knit back in July or August!!

I wish I had the patience to get some yarn and knit too. Would love to see some of your projects

You can start out with easy projects. A person can gain patience while knitting and crocheting. It can be calming, too. Plus there is a good sense of accomplishment when a project is finished. You can check out some of my previous projects under Discussions on my profile.

When I was younger, I tried to knit socks but I was too impatient and gave up.

It took me some time to gain patience while knitting socks. At the start of a sock it's quite fiddly. Then after about 10 to 12 rounds it get easier.

It took a year or two to where I don't mind knitting socks. For many years, i was intimidated by the process. I don't know why I didn't start a long time ago.

Good fortune on your yarn project. It is so good to sew something.

Thank you. I do like to knit, crochet, and sew. I like to see the end result of my effort.

If I remember correctly, I think I learned to crochet a little bit before I started to knit.
