Costa Maya is on the Yucatan Penninsula and we have visited it before. On that cruise, we went on an excursion to Chacchoben the site of 1300-year-old Mayan ruins. This time we stayed on the ship and enjoyed another day by the pool soaking up the warmth and relaxing. It was a gala night in the dining room and they served lobster tail which is always a nice treat on a Friday during Lent.
Relaxing is something that I usually have a hard time doing but somehow on this cruise, it became a lifestyle lol

Since I normally live in New England where lobster is on most menus it isn't that big if a deal to me.

@BelleStarr That is great. I am not a meat eater so two tails would be great for me.

@BelleStarr - Years ago, when my husband and I were in our 20s, we took a Volkswagen Westfalia camper through Mexico and spent a good amount of time visiting the Mayan ruins on the Yucatan Penninsula. They are fascinating, aren't they?

@BelleStarr and @ramapo17 - I agree that the Mayan ruins on the Yucatan Penninsula are beautiful and mysterious. You realize that we are only seeing the largest of the buildings which still remain. All the wooden cottages disappeared centuries ago. These remaining ruins were the centers of large cities. It makes me wonder what archeologists will think of our cities in a few thousand years. I'm glad my husband and I took that trip when we were young. He has many health problems, now, which would make it impossible to do today.

Royal Caribbean and Holland America do at least on my last cruises with them. I could live without it. From what I read, it depends more on the length of the cruise, they are not served on short cruises, 4 days and under

@BelleStarr I have been on Royal once and we had a good time. My son goes on there a lot so we went with him. We have been on about 40 cruises and all but 3 have been on Norwegian. The new ships are great and have so many things to do like Royal does.
