5 days off for Easter!

I was just on the website of my daughter's school and noticed that they'll be closed 5 days for Easter. I already knew they'll be off on the 30th of March (Friday) and figured they'd also be off on the 2nd of April (Monday). I used to have those days off while at school, and figured it'd be the same. I was just checking the website and saw that, not only will they have those days off, but will also have the Tuesday April 3rd off too. I was surprised, I'll admit. They definitely do seem to get a lot of days off. Thankfully, it's not a huge problem for us, but it's still surprising how many days off they have. Such is life, I guess.

I'm such a bad Christian, I didn't even know when Easter was this year! I assume from your post that Easter Sunday is on 1 April. If that's the case, I will be in the middle of a forest on a one-week long backpacking trip with my son. I sure didn't plan that very well, did I?

Sometimes things end up that way. The only reason I know when Easter is due to my kids have days off. So, I'm not much better.

Well, it will good to have her around I guess! My nephews in college are not really having any time off for Easter. I am not sure when their spring break is. The one should be graduating soon.

My grandson has two weeks off now for spring break, but my granddaughter won't have her week vacation until her brother returns to school. Poor parents!

Oh goodness! Poor parents indeed. That means they'll have one child home for the next few weeks.

That is a lot of time off for Easter. When I was in school we had the week off before Easter, and went back the Tuesday after. That was our Spring Break, though it wasn't called that back then.

That would make sense. I would also go back to school on the Tuesday. We had four days, but our spring break was earlier.

@dodo19 When they started getting away from the Easter break, and calling it a Spring break, it started going earlier.

I still haven't looked to see when Easter Vacation is for my kids. Since once in public school and one is in cyber school they usually have different days off.

That would make sense. If they go to do different schools, it makes sense that they may have different days off.

Is that considered their spring break? Most kids get a week or a week and a half off school here in MN around this time of year.

It's not really. Not for us. My eldest had a spring break, or March break as we call, the week of March 5th. She had a week off.

It's summer vacation here so no classes at all until the semester starts in June and September in some universities.

We used to get just the two days off too. There does seem to be more public holidays than there ever used to be.

It is interesting to see how the schools do it. I know the school board does have their own days off, which the schools have to follow, but will also have their own extra days off too.

The schools give more days off now than they did when I went, but we did get 3 months off for summer .

They do seem to get more days off now than when I was a kid. Things have changed. Kids have about 2-2 1/2 months off here in the summer.
