A person who is unpredictable and acts on a whim is referred to as being capricious. Italian goats or capros happen to be the original capricious creatures. They love to be frisky and romp about the countryside inspiring the Italian word capriccioso or whimsical which then became capricious in 1600. Anyone out there capricious or do you know anyone who is? Aren’t the Italian goat adorable?

I can well understand the connection as goats, even as adults, love to frisk and play.

Hence the zodiac term "Capricorn" which symbol is the goat or ram. My daughter and my mother are both capricorn as well as my son-in-law. :-)

They resemble sheep - with horns. I am not capricious, but I have met a few who are.
